La ría recorre a lo largo todo el norte del jardín, casi paralela al muro que lo delimita. Tiene una longitud de medio km. Hacia la mitad de su recorrido se abre en un pequeño lago que alberga dos islas. En este punto encontraremos varios puntos singulares: el monumento funerario dedicado al III Duque de Osuna, el embarcadero o “casa de cañas”, el puente de hierro, la isla de los cisnes y restos de antiguos pabellones. La ría está delimitada por muretes de ladrillo macizo. Para el fondo y las paredes hay diferentes acabados, pues debió dar siempre problemas y pérdidas constantes de agua. Actualmente se ha restaurado por completo, respetando íntegramente su diseño original. En su deseo de mantener su imagen “serpenteante”, sus paredes ondulan continuamente, pudiendo decirse que no existe ni un solo metro rectilíneo. Las curvas sinuosas se suceden y las vistas van cambiando según nuestro recorrido avanza por la ría.
